Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle is driven by engine which works as the main power source and motor as the auxiliary power. People pay more attention to PHEV for environment friendly and energy conservation. And the performance of energy conservation depends on control strategy, so the research of control strategy is also focused nowadays. The dissertation discussed and analyzed the control strategy of a PHEV .The dissertation introduced the conformation of powertrain and the control unit system. and the parameters of powertrain were given.The backward model including the Engine, Generation, Battery, Transmission and the whole Vehicle kinetic model is built on Matlab/Simulink which is necessary for the simulation of its control strategy.A threshold Control Strategy of PHEV based on the energy consumption calculations is presented. Compared with other threshold Control Strategys, strongpoint of this Control Strategy is that the powertrain operation region is divided by using the result of calculations on the operation points. According to result, the control regulation is established. And the simulation result shows that the fuel economy was improved.The Discrete Dynamic Programming was using to solve the question in fuel economy global optimal control of PHEV. Based on the mathematical model of powertrain, the program of global optimal of fuel economy is written. After running the program, the optimal fuel economy and optimal control strategy is obtained which is useful for estimating and optimizing other control strategies.The Rapid Control Prototyping experiments of the Start, Engine Generate and Engine Assist mode are carried out on the test platform based on dSPACE. The result shows that all the parts worked well in each model of the powertrain and proposed control purpose is achieved as expected.At the end of the paper, the conclusions of the research and the innovation points are presented, and expectation on further research and development is also put forward.
