At present, the development of electric power system in our country is very rapid. The computer technology, communication technology, control theory and the information technology infiltrate and inosculate reciprocally ,so the structure and the mode of function become more complicated, and the request of the automatic control in electric power system also become higher .As the important part of the automatic control technology in modern times, the computer protection units in transformer substation play the significant effect in the security, credibility, quality of power supply, economical function. Currently most of the transformer substations take the way of keeping watch without people, various protected and measure-controlled units connect with others by using communication network, the quantity of the communication in network get more with the increased number of the units, at the same time, it requires the time of responding all kinds of the event as short as possible. Therefore the application of the locale bus goes into the inevitable trend. This paper designs a automatic and opening protected unit system in the transformer substations. It bases on the DSPF2812 produced by TI company and UC/OS-II operation system, describes a design frame and actualized method about network communication of CAN BUS, and adopts the MODBUS communication protocol in the application layer of CAN BUS, it inosculates the embedded technology and locale bus technology into this system, and forms a advanced system of transformer substations units. This method can ensure the reliable data transmission, high real-time performance and strong anti interference, which thus realizes effective application.
