Hydraulic cushion system is mechanical, electrical and hydraulic device, which transforms mechanical energy to pressure energy and thermal energy by viscous damping of hydraulic fluid flow . The development of hydraulic cushion system is the cable anchor damper which is used in the aircraft arresting system. The aircraft arresting system has two cable anchor damper installed in the cable ends. The purpose of the cable anchor damper is to eliminate excessive purchase cable slack between the crosshead and the fixed sheave assembly at the beginning of the arrestment stroke.When an aircraft has a deflective engagement of the runway center, the arresting system should be able to rectify a deviation to the aircraft. The cable anchor damper can eliminate this deflective engagement and ensure that the aircraft lands normally.Firstly the paper summarizes the application, development and study of hydraulic cushion system and the cable anchor damper. The significance and background of the study are presented.It builds the mathematical model of the valve-hydraulic cylinder cushioning control system. The in-depth analysis for structure and working principle is made. The mathematical model system is built. In order to study the deflective-engaging processes precisely, the paper also uses mechanical dynamics simulation software ADAMS to create mechanical part and hydraulic system simulation software AMESim to create electro-hydraulic part.Because the cable anchor damper is a nonlinear system and aircraft cable's collision points, angle and the load always changes. This makes the traditional PID controller hard to control accurately. This paper builds up mathematical model and designs IGA-PID controller, which is based on IGA (Immune and Genetic algorithm). IGA-PID controller has high precision, fast response . Combined the immune algorithm with the genetic algorithm, it adapts the environment through the promotion and inhibition response of antibodies. The simulation results show that the installation of the cable anchor damper can reduce the slack of cable and vibration efficiently and eliminate the aircraft's off-center. IGA-PID controller has quick response and small static error, it reduce declination of cable's force and rectify a deviation. The research and the results of the simulation have a usefull guidance and high credibility.
