The convective drying process of porous medium includes simultaneous heat and mass transfer inside and outside. For evaluating energy and mass equilibrium relationship during convective drying prosess on a closure heat pump drying system with an assistant condenser, a complete variable-mass thermodynamic analytical method based on the first law, the second law and the comparison of engineering thermodynamics are processed. In order to discover the interior moisture transfer mechanism influenced by the exterior conditions during drying, a phenomenological mathematics model for hydrous porous media during convective drying is set up based on irreversible thermodynamics theory. According to the solution and experimental results, the model is qualified. Finally, four different experimental drying schemes are done. With reference to the model, the optimum drying scheme of this drying material is comfirmed.
