Research On Improved Lightning-Protection Measures Of Transmission Lines Of West Xingtai Power Grid

West Xingtai power grid locates in classical lightning area of Hebei province, and operates at different wide voltage degree. The lightning strikes in transmission lines occur frequently, which largely affects the secure and stable operation of West Xingtai power grid. In this paper, beginning with the real lighting strikes on transmission lines of West Xingtai power grid, the types and modes of lightning strikes are analyzed. In addition, the rules, characteristics and existing issues of lightning strikes on transmission lines of West Xingtai power grid are investigated, and the conclusions and evaluations of the effects of current lightning protection measures are given, the constructive improved lightning-protection measures on transmission lines of West Xingtai power grid are presented in the end. The works of this paper has great research and engineering application value.
