Lightning is a common weather in nature.It has great harmfulness,especially for the stable running of transmission lines.In this paper,through the research on several measures for lightning protection on transmission lines,it further studies the improvement of the lightning performance of the transmission line in the local power system,in order to effectively reduce the lightning trip-out rate caused by lightning disasters,so as to guarantee a safe and stable operation of the power system.This article first introduces the research background and significance of this subject,with a detailed analysis of the current research status at home and abroad,and elaborates the main research content of this article.It introduces the formation and development process of thunder and lightning,the lightning voltage and lightning current formation,lightning parameters and insulator flashover mode,with a detailed analysis of the lightning trip-out rate calculation method in accordance with the actual line voltage grade in Guilin.According to the special local terrain and the layout of the transmission line,this paper focuses on several methods of lightning protection design for the transmission line in this region,such as the reduction of the tower grounding resistance value,line lightning arrester installation,reasonable choice of 110kV,220kV transmission line coupling of insulation coordination,and the setting of coupling ground wire.In view of the Guilin topography,this paper analyses the tower grounding resistance,tower height,span and voltage' s infection on lightning failures.Finally,this paper analyses the present situation and existing lightning protection problems of Guilin power grid.According to some defects existed in the local lightning protection measures,the effective improvement measures are put forward.Combined with the present situation of the local power grid,considering many factors such as climate,terrain and environment,the comprehensive lightning protection measures of 110kV-220kV transmission line are put forward.From the actual improved running effect of the lightning protection measures,we can see clearly that,the enlargement of the lightning parameters' measurement and prevention can significantly reduce the lightning trip-out rate of the transmission line caused by lightning.
