On the basis of analysis which is about steel-concrete composite bridge's theory and testing data, borrowing ideas from the research theory of steel and concrete, the shear resistance behavior analysis of steel and concrete composite bridge is formed. In details, the following aspects are investigated:1. On the basis of developing history and present status of composite beam and high strength material, the characteristics of shear resistance are analysed, and the problems of shear resistance are indicated. Longitudinal shear resistance and vertical shear resistance, which are two important points of shear resistance researches, are summaried.2. According to the weakness of composite bridge's shear resistance researches, a new method is suggested, which considers interface slip in composite beam. The influence of high strength material's mechanical property which is different from normal strength material's should be considered.3. On the basis of finite element theory, the models of steel-concrete composite beam is set up by ANSYS. The composite beam's mid-span dedflection,longitudinal slip,stud shear and vertical shear under different elastic stage and elastic-plastic stage are compared, when the concrete strength,steel strength are different.4. By the calculated results and the influence of material strength and physical dimension to composite beam, some suggestions are proposed when different strength materials are used in composite beam design.
