In order to guarantee that the nuclear power plants,factories,mines and ship propulsion systems run safely and reliably,the emergency diesel generator set must have high stability and fast response characteristics,and the technique requirements of the synchronous and its excitation system are more higher.Through the use of system simulation method,this paper designs the excitation system and electronic speed regulator of the emergency diesel generator set,and provides guidance for the design of the synchronous through simulation and analysis.First of all,according to the requirements to the emergency diesel generator set of national standards GB/T 2820,this paper established an emergency diesel generator set simulation model in MATLAB including the diesel engine,electronic speed regulator, phase-compounding brushless excitation system and synchronous using the stability theory in power system.Secondly,this paper simulated the processes of sudden increase and decrease 60%rated load of the synchronous machine,and verified the correctness of the model by comparing the simulation results with the experimental results.And the simulation model has been applied to the engineering design.Then the processes of direct startup asynchronous motor and parallel operation of the emergency diesel generator set were simulated.And this paper summarized the approach to choose the maximum startup power of the asynchronous in the emergency diesel generator set.According to the working principles of the asynchronous soft starter,the structure and the principle of the soft starter were studied.A slope voltage soft starter and a constant current soft starter were modeled,and the soft starting processes under them were simulated.By comparing the results of the two soft starters,the constant current soft starter was used to connecting to the asynchronous machine as the load of the emergency diesel generator set, then the starting process was simulated.The results show that the current could be reduced to one third of its original value by using the soft starter,and the load of the emergency diesel generator set could be increased to 2 times the original value.Finally,this paper established an emergency diesel generator set simulation software based on MATLAB GUI,through which users can easily set parameters,start or stop a simulation,modify and simulate the simulink models,observe results under different setting, etc.This software simplifies the process and provides an effective analysis means to the engineering design of the emergency diesel generator set.
