We are facing the world-wide problem of natural resource shortage in the modern world, but the number of the car with high resources consumption is increasing all the time.Therefore, how to enhance the using efficiency of the energy and reduce the environmental pollution is becoming a hot topic recently.The object of study in this paper is an automotive application based on the low-power light source-LED coordinating with fiber optic lighting,a new green lighting way,which has good practical value.This article takes lighting system as the research object and discusses how to design a new lighting system with large advantages.The system assembles the entire light sources in a car together in one location,and transmits the light to any place by using lighting optic fiber.So, the centralized control of the light source and flexible transmitting of the light become available.First of all,we introduce and analysis the light source of the car completely,then we choose LED as the light source to be studied carefully.According to the different functions of the car lamp,we choose the suitable High-Bright LED and design relevant driving circuit.Secondly,on the base of complete analysis about the controlling logic of the car lamp,we use C8051-series MCU as the controller to compile the control program about the car lamp. And we have realized controlling all the lighting system of a car just with a single chip.As a result,the reliability of the system has been improved,and the system can closely linked to the other electrical equipment in the car body by its internal CAN bus.What is more,by the overall research and analysis of lighting optic fiber,we discuss how to choose the suitable optic fiber,LED light source,condenser lens,reflector and protective metal shell,then make them closely coupled with each other to accomplish an integrated optic fiber lighting system.Lastly,an experimental model has been made to prove the feasibility of the centralized controlling system of automotive lamp.By the comparison between the theory calculation and test data,we obtain some issues that required urgent solution,which offer the right directions to the research and design of this system in the future.
