Considering the membrane effect of plates,the design of profiled steel sheets allows local buckling of plates,and can utilize post- buckling strength.Normally,it used effective section in designing.If we get proper effective section,we can calculate total bearing capacity of members exactly.In this paper,a brief introduction of Chinese and foreign research on the post-buckling behavior of plate structure is outlined,and comparison of the relevant provisions about web's effective width for Chinese, American,and Australian code is presented.Combined two types of profiled steel sheets with web's intermediate stiffeners which are called YXB76-344-688,YXB76-226-678 produced by Central Research Institute Building Construction,using the finite element program ANSYS and nonlinear finite element method,web's effective width of YXB76-344-688,YXB76-226-678 are calculated,calculation formula of this type profiled steel sheets is established,and provides corresponding reference to applying this type profiled steel sheets.
