May 12,2008,severe earthquake happened in Wenchuan,Sichuan Province. Covering 18 cities in Sichuan Province, and part of Gansu,Shaanxi and Chongqing province, the damage area is more than 1xl0~5km~2.The earthquake affected most areas of china and even felt in neighboring countries. It is the most devastating earthquake since the founding of New China. In this earthquake, the damage of the school building caused people's great attention. How to guarantee the safety of the school infrastructure in severe earthquake has become a hot issue in circles.Based on the static elastoplasticity Pushover analysis method, this article had evaluated the seismic performance of renovated structures in XAUAT East campus.Pushover analysis method with its easy calculation and practicability has become a powerful tool in researching structural deformation under the earthquake.By analyzing the library and building its mathematical model, this article evaluates the seismic performance through the baseshear-displacement curve, lateral displacement of storey and plastic hinge, meanwhile compares the different influence of lateral load modal and determines of the seismic performance point. The renovated structure project of XAUAT East campus is a complicated engineering, and sets a precedent for the conversion of abandoned industrial plants to school buildings. This article had evaluated the seismic performance of renovated structures as a supplement for the whole project. The main conclusions are as follows: Firstly, static elastoplasticity Pushover analysis method could reflect the destructive process well under the earthquake, especially for the lower and first vibration mode structure;Secondly, through examples, static elastoplasticity Pushover analysis method within the applicable range could take the place of the nonlinear dynamic time-history analysis for the seismic performance evaluation.
