| Structural system of low rise cold-formed thin-walled steel framing building is much different from the reinforced concrete structure. The differences are focused on the composing of the Structural, mechanical characteristics and the force transfer mode. Because of the characteristic of the cold-formed thin-walled steel, the design methods of the components are different. In this paper, the lateral load(especially the wind load) distribution on the shearing wall is mainly analyzed, and three common design methods are mainly described, which are tributary area method, total shear method and relative stiffness method. The tributary area method is commonly used with the least calculation but predicted with the least accuracy, and followed by the total shear method, the relative stiffness method is the last. The influence of the relative stiffness of the shearing wall and the diaphragm on the lateral load distribution and how to confirm their relative stiffness are discussed.Based on the correlative North America standardization, the composing of the cold-formed thin-walled steel framing building and the design methods of the primary components as well as the joint of them commonly used in North America are introduced. The roof Structural system, the floor structure system and the wall Structural system are described separately and the primary components of these systems are described such as the roof, the floor beam, the wall panel, the window lintel including back to back lintel, box lintel and L shaped lintel, and the hold down of foundation, etc. In this paper, the latest researches on experimental study about the structure system studied are presented, the researches which renew or recompose some prescribes in GB50018-2002 include the calculating method of the load carrying capacity of the stud in the wall, the maximum shear capacity of the wall, the maximum lateral stiffness of the shear wall and the load carrying capacity of the floor beam;all the researches provide valuable references for the practical design. |
