With the rapid development of our national economy, the demand of electricityis increasing more in all walks of life, and power factor has become an importantindicator measuring the quality of grid power system. Power-factor-segmentwatt-hour meter assesses fees according to user's real-time power factor, and themeans of economic lever can be used to urge users to improve their power factors soas to improve the quality of electrical network.This article first analyzes the working principle of power-factor-segmentwatt-hour meter, and then introduces the DSP technology and its application inmeasuring power parameters, and introduces a variety of power measurementalgorithm and the principle.In hardware design of the system, the total hardware design program isintroduced at first. Then it describes in detail all the major hardware modules,mainly including data acquisition unit, data processing unit, management controlunit, display interface unit and communication interface unit. Finally, theanti-jamming measures of the hardware system are analyzed.Software of the system consists of two parts: software of DSP for measurementunit and software of MCU for management unit. DSP completes the computing andprocessing of the A/D sample signal using the FFT algorithm, and sends theprocessed data to MCU. And MCU is responsible for the realization of thepower-factor-segment measurement module, and executes the function of harmonicmonitoring, demand calculation, anomaly detection, communication and displayprocessing. In the end, the anti-jamming measures of the software system areintroduced.Finally, it produces the state of power-factor-segment watt-hour meter runningon the power grid, and gives the basic parameters and the main technical indicators,as well as the experimental results of performance testing of power-factor-segmentwatt-hour meter.Power-factor-segment watt-hour meter uses high-grade energy meter designprogram with DSP and MCU. It has such fetures as high precision, simple structure,easy-to-use. It can measure the user's total electricity consumption, as well as thecumulative power-factor-segment power, and assesses fees though examinating power factor, and can monitor harmonic of power grid. It is helpful for factories andenterprises with large electricity consumption to use power resources scientificallyand rationally.
