With the rapid development of our country's economic and urbanization process, the rapid growth of cities scale and the unprecedented prosperity of urban socio-economic and cultural activities, it results the increase of residents travel demand, the urban traffic congestion and obstruction, at the same time the issues such as traffic accidents and environmental pollution also becoming increasingly serious, all of these have affected the sustainable development of our cities. Give priority to the development of public transport can optimize the structure of urban traffic, and achieve efficient use of city roads resources. And the public transportation network is the basis of public transport operation, and bus line optimization is not only the root of the problem of raising the level of public transportation systems and public services to attract the flow rate, but also the most economical and effective means. Therefore, the research of optimization of urban conventional public transportation network is of great significance.In this paper, it pointed out that the city faced by conventional public transportation network optimization problems, and based on which it provided the concrete optimization methods of urban conventional public transportation network; First of all, it pointed out the current situation of urban public transportation network optimization as well as the main research study, and provides an overview of the general methods and specific steps of line optimization; Secondly, it introduces an analysis of urban public transport demand forecast "three-stage" method, and respectively generates the main mathematical models and specific methods of urban travel forecasting, trip distribution and travel mode share forecasts predict, some measures for improvement the model are put forward in order to adapt to its online network optimization; and then, Introduced the public transportation network to optimize the content of some of the basic , including the public transportation network optimization, principium , he basic idea of optimization, The bus terminal choice, matching, line calculation of carrying capacity, as well as bus lines to generate the initial.and then, based on the previous analysis of factors that affect the public transportation network optimization, Target and Constraints ,it proposed optimization mathematical mode of urban conventional public transportation network under the targets of the least urban society total travel time, the lowest vehicle operating cost and the highest daily average net loaded and maximum net coverage. And introduced this model to solve several commonly used methods of mathematical optimization. then, focuses on the ant colony algorithm in the public transportation network optimization. And through simulation experiments carried out on-line simulation of the regional network optimization, through the analysis of the superior performance of network. Simulation analysis showed that under the Ant colony algorithm, it is scientific and feasible as well as has a certain theoretical and practical significance to optimize the conventional line network of cities. finally, it summarizes the text, points out the further studying issues.
