On-line test method for the insulation of capacitive equipments is studied in this thesis. The data which are influenced by the environmental factors on the test are analyzed based on the math method. Therefore, the insulation condition of capacitive equipments can be diagnosed. A set of on-line test system based on relative measurement method to measure dielectric loss angle tangent's difference values between capacitive equipments in phase is developed and used in application. A method based on least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) is proposed to modify the effect of environmental factors of on-line test data. Based on the analysis and modification of the on-line test data, the criterion about capacitive equipments faults is concluded.
