The veracity of power system dynamic simulation has direct influence on the running of power system security, and how to advance it is a problem crying for solve. Generator is the source set of power system and is very important to the steady and transient operation of power system, so the research on simulation credibility of it is meaningful. This paper analysis the trajectory sensitivity of changing parameters in a synchronous generator, and get the relationship between the disturbance intensity, the parameter identify-ability and the parameter sensitivity. And use the genetic algorithm (GA) to identify the parameters in a synchronous generator model, find out the parameters which have larger error, and correct them. Then use the simulation credibility evaluation system to analyze the two three short-circuit fault's currents which are before and after the parameters are modified. The comparing results indicate that the identified parameters of GA algorithm advanced the veracity of synchronous generator simulation to a certain extent.
