| With the development to high-efficiency, high-integration and low-power of the electronic products, power management chips are getting higher demands, prompting the DC/DC switching converter technology has been a breakthrough in the progress and make it a valuable research direction.Step-down DC/DC converter has been analyzed and designed in details in this paper. First of all, a buck converter topology and operating principle have been presented in details. The efficiency of the system is highly improved based on the PWM operation-mode and peak-current mode. The detailed block diagram is designed based on the performance of the system. Then each module of the chip is analyzed and designed, in which several important modules including the regulator circuit, the reference circuit, error amplifier, oscillator, current control module, PWM comparator, dead-time control circuit, slope compensation and protection circuit. These functional blocks have been selected and designed in transistor level according to the chip parameters, they have been simulated by charter 0.35μm CMOS model of Cadence and the results all satisfy the requirements of the design . |
