The flocculation of feed water treatment has the primary task that provides the necessary hydraulic conditions to make water and chemical agent mixed so that form flocculating constituent that has good physical properties. The flocculating constituent should have great granularity, density and intensity. It can provide the good conditions to make impurity settle down and separate quickly in precipitation stage.The major factors that have significant effect on reaction are spacing between folded plate, angle of folded plate and number of curve folded plate structure. In this dissertation five folded plate flocculator models are used to consult dynamics mechanism and research eddy that react to coagulation by combining testing with numerical simulation and theoretical analysis.Firstly, it has been educed that the flow condition has import effect on flocculation by analyzing flocculation mechanism process and combining flocculation mechanism with flocculation dynamics model. Secondly, mathematical model is set up on the basis of testing flocculation model. Then the influence of flocculation is mainly analyzed on the basis of flow field and eddy after flow field had been numerically simulated by FLUENT analytic software. Thirdly, PIV actual measurement is carried on to validate the result of simulation. Lastly, it comes to the conclusion that the process which combines opposite folded plate flocculator (angle is 90) with parallel corrugated folded plate flocculator (angle is 90) is far more efficient.From what has been discussed above, it indicates that hydraulic characteristic has import effect on flocculation and what is the best combination mode about angle of folded plate in flocculator to guide the practical engineering design.
