Since the beginning of the 21st century, with the rapid growth of the global economy and an increasing impact of human transformation on our nature, the conflict between man and nature gradually intensified, and thus ecological destruction and environmental pollution have become a serious regional and global issue. As a result, eco-design has become a heated topic in discussing today's urban housing construction.The so-called eco-housing refers to a new housing model with a high efficiency, low consumption, no waste, no pollution, and a certain degree of self-sufficiency. It is achieved through the comprehensive use of contemporary architecture, ecology and other scientific and technological achievements, by following the ecological balance and the principles of sustainable development, and thus making a reasonable design and plan in material and energy factors associated with both inside and outside a construction.This paper, based on market research, design and implementation, has systematically analyzed China's specifications in current eco-design for indoor decoration of a construction, and then has described in detail the design methods and the designing cases from the following five aspects: indoor space, air quality, acoustic environment, thermal environment, and light environment.As to the implementation of eco-design, in view of the fact that China's current residential areas are gradually "aging", this paper focuses on the re-decoration of old houses. It has conducted an in-depth analysis on the designing process and relevant monitoring data collected from the implementation, which highlights the practical application of eco-design in the house decoration.
