Ultrasonic motor technology is a high technology combined with vibration,tribology,new material and new process technology.It possesses particular characteristics such as low speed and high torque,immunity form electromagnetic interference and dimension microminiaturization.It plays an increasingly important role in the domain of precise location, robot actuator and aeronautics and astronautics,which becomes very popular.Due to quite many parameters of ultrasonic motor stator and the complexity of structural optimization and modal aliasing,the finite element,orthogonal optimize design and artificial neural network are introduced to study modal frequency and modal aliasing for RTWUSM30,45 and 60 with different outside diameters.The main work and results are evidenced as follows:1.When stator model of ultrasonic motor and boundary conditions are obtained precisely,the more precise results of modal frequency can besolved though using ANSYS software.2.To three types of RTWUSM30,45 and 60,their ten design parameters such as piezoelectric ceramic materials,the gear height and pre-pressure et al are studied,it is found that the effects of the parameters on the magnitude of modal frequency are consistent and so is their tendency.But the effect on modal aliasing is complicated.So the interaction between design parameters of ultrasonic motor stator on the magnitude of modal frequency is small but on modal aliasing may be large.3.Taking RTWUSM45 as an example,through studying the effect of interaction on modal frequency it is concluded that the interaction consists in the ratio of gear height and width of the stator,elastic supportive width and advanced press,and also in the ratio of gear width and groove width and advanced press.The interaction among the gear height of stator and elastic supportive Width is more obvious.4.Comparing the results with and without considering the interaction of the stator's design parameters,it is found that the modal aliasing can be forecasted precisely when the interaction is considered,which means that the stator design parameters play a great interaction on the phenomenon of modal aliasing of ultrasonic motor,so it must be considered in the motor design.5.After training the artificial neural network by better testing samples,the design parameters and their corresponding modal aliasing can be predicted.It is shown that the general tendency of the effect of design parameters on modal aliasing can be predicted rapidly,but it is a qualitative analysis.
