Ultrasonic motors utilize the converse piezoelectric effect of piezoceramics to generate ultrasonic vibration in particles on the surface of stators. Moreover, ultrasonic motors also use frictional materials between stators and rotors to fulfill energy transition. There are a number of advantages of this brand-new working principle. First, it has a simple structure. Second, it can lock by itself when it is powered off. Third, its speed is low and torque is large. it has a bright and extensive application prospect in the field of home electronics, micro robots as well as space industry. In this paper, the author proposes a double disk inertial structure of the ultrasonic motor,With the help of ANSYS, he emulates its structural model and gets the modal analysis diagram, harmonic response analysis diagram and transient analysis diagram. From the diagrams above, the author learns that resonant frequency and displacement momentum can be the criteria for evaluating the performance of an ultrasonic motor. In this paper, drive circuits have been designed with 12 V DC voltage input signal and with 141 V, 90 degree phase difference output PWM signal. In the circuits, single chip microcomputer(SCM) adjusts duty cycle to achieve the adjustable output voltage by the duty cycle potentiometer. In this way, control performance of drive circuits has been improved and application scope of drive circuits has been broadened. In this paper, we have fabricated a inertia ultrasonic motor with double disks. Through testing motor speed of 30 USM by using incremental encoder, motor speed performance curve has been obtained.
