Seismic design and wind-resistant design in bridge are two complete and independent system, structural vibration control are the application of the classic in two areas. In this paper, a more detailed summary of the bridge seismic and wind resistance measures, and contrast their similarities and differences. Therefrom Engineering staff can deepen awareness of the seismic and wind control measures and provide useful help in engineering.First of all this paper describe the bridge response to earthquake and wind and clarify the structure of vibration control ,then Analyse the relationship between the vibration control theory(passive control, active control and semi-active control) and the natural frequencies, structural damping, as well as the energy input. The article have more extensive details on various types of measure in the application of current seismic and wind resistance, mainly gain the following conclusions by comparing:1. Seismic and wind resistance measures share a common mechanism of action, follow the rule of reducing energy input and increasing energy output.2.Earthquake load and wind load input form, location of the spectrum caused the different characteristics of response, and caused the very different measures.3. Completing the task, the degree of environmental impact, intensity and displacement control of structures, such as changing parts are very different from Bridge seismic and wind measures.4. The completion of a bridge seismic design and wind-resistant design is a systematic project, a variety of measures often were required to participate in the project, Portfolio optimization is very important.
