Air-cooled condenser (ACC) support structural system is the major and important supporting structure of air-cooled condenser island(ACCI), it is comprised of across steel trusses in the upper and ring-sectioned reinforced concrete(RC) columns with large-diameters in the lower part, which is belonged to steel and RC hybrid structure system. Large span,tall height,heavy equipment weight at the top,great hang-raised length,many equipment piping,complex connect,and complex influence by operating loading(the hinder load of wind machine,current,pulsant load)and environmental actions(earthquake,wind load).In order to study the aseismatic behavior of the joints of RC column and steel truss, the simulative static experiments were taken on three reduced scale model joints which are from the ACC structure archetype of one main fire power plant.Three model joints with different restriction were tested by unvarying load on the vertical direction and to-and-fro load on the level direction, and they may be rectified by practical course. Breakage came out from the weak zones that welding lines and bolts of H profiled bar on the up steel truss earlier than the connect zones of the joints. So the work status was changed, the models were only pushed or pulled, and the end of the H profiled bar puncheon welding lines of rigid joints were ripped , the board of the frictional high strength bolts on the front loaded bar of the hinge jointed model was snapped, and the models reached the limit carrying capacity.Based on the experimental data, hysteretic curve,skeleton curves carrying capacity,stiffness,ductility and energy-absorbing parameter were analyzed; the finite element tool ANSYS and theory calculation were used for the specimen STJ-4, and compared to the experimental results. The results show that hysteretic capacity of the hinge jointed model is better than the rigid jointed model with greater cost; the construction quality of welding lines and bolts has very important influence to the capacity of the joints. At last designs construction suggestions and structure measures were given by the experiment results and theory analysis.
