Steel reinforced concrete construction is widely used in practical projects by virtue of its higher bearing capcity ,higher stiffness and excellent seismic behavior. Howener, its calculation theory was developed a lot, at present there is no uniform design theory for concrete beam with encased steel truss, the existing Technical specification for steel reinforced can,t satisfy absolutely the demands of such design and construction elements. And there is no uniform design criterion for concrete beam with encased steel truss too. So it is significant to study the mechanical behavior of bearing capacity ,failure mode of concrete beam with encased steel truss. This papercarried out experimental study on the mechanics performance of concrete beam with encased steel truss. And based on the experimental study ,the more reasonable applied calculation methods are proposed.Based on experimental results of 3 specimens of concrete beam with encased steel truss, the affections of number of stirrups to the mechanical behavior concrete beam with encased steel truss are analyzed.Based on the ultimate intension theory of reinforced concrete beams and assumption that aplane section before bending and remains a plane after bending, formulas for the normal section bearing capacity calculation of concrete beam with encased steel truss are derived .The proposed formulas agree well with experimental results, So this method can be used to guide engineering practice provide reference to the The development of relevant norms and protocols.
