C-section checkered steel-encased concrete composite beam with laminated slab is a new type of composite beam. Steel beam is cold-formed from checkered steel plate.Considering strengthening the natural bond strength between steel and concrete,we will replace the ordinary steel plate with checkered steel plate, and use a new type of shear connector—bent-up tabs. These two measures will reduce the slip between concrete and steel, improve the capacity of the beams. Also it will reduce the cost of construction. By the research of the experiment of the composite beams, the following work are completed.Firstly,Static load tests on eight composite beams were carried out to study the influence of the shear span ratio, width, number of bent-up tabs and dowel to the shear capacity of composite beams.Through the experiment, load-strain curve,load-slip curves,load-deflection curve,slip-distribution curve and deflection-distribution curve of the C-beam are obtained. According to the analysis of the results, the mechanical properties and deformation characteristics under different load form are comprehended.Secondly, according to the experiment and analysis, we come up with a formula of the vertical shear capacity and the level shear capacity of the composite beams. Finally, based on the material parameters and geometric parameters of the test, the finite element analysis software ABAQUS is adopted to establish the composite beam model. The test values and the finite element analysis results on elastic performance are in good agreement with each other. Meanwhile we establish the composite beam model with different plate thickness and strength grade of concrete. In order to find how the mentioned factors influence on the elastic performance of the composite beam.
