The basic function of pile foundations is to transfer the load of upper structures to the soil around the pile, so the load transfer characteristics and laws of the pile-soil system become one of the basic researches of foundation researchers. The load transfer has own laws in different areas because of the difference of geological and construction conditions, and the research on the characteristics of the regional pile foundations become one of the current subjects which are facing pile foundations researchers. The Xigeda-rock is widely distributed in Xichang and Panzhihua regions of Sichuan Province. It belongs to extreme soft-rock with special characteristics, for example, it can be mashed and softened when meeting water and will rupture when being dehydrated. The research datum about cast-in situ piles in the rock is badly scarce, and there are not clear and complete computational methods in current criterions.Based mainly on the subject "Testing Study on Bearing Properties of Pile Foundation in Xigeda-Rock" under the western traffic scientific research project "Research on Highway Construction Techniques in Xigeda-Rock". and associated with provincial scientific research project "Testing Study on Bearing Properties of Bored Pile in Xigeda-Mudstone in Xichang-Panzhihua Expressway", this Paper conducts comparatively systematic research. Firstly, in accordance with the materials of the vertical static load test of the single pile, the author analyses the laws of the axial force, lateral friction and end resistance of the piles. Secondly several typical load transfer function models are introduced; and the model suiting Xigeda-rock is determined by comparing the models mentioned above and the sensitivities of the parameters are discussed. Lastly, by comparing the load-settlement curves drawn by displacement-coordination programming and the vertical static load testing, the range of the load transfer function model's parameters are determined.
