Driving Cycle is mainly applied on the evaluation of the vehicle and engine performance. So in order to make an accurate evaluation on the fuel economy and emission level of the vehicle and engine, the Driving Cycle have to represent the real condition of the vehicle and engine. Then whether the evaluation on the fuel economy and emission of the vehicle is reasonable or not will directly affect the fuel economy and emission optimization of the vehicle and engine.The Xi'an passenger cars was chosen as the study target. Base on the vehicle field test .The methods that are applied to develop the Driving Cycle of the vehicle were analyzed. Then the method used to develop the Driving Cycle of the passenger cars was confirmed and the program of synthesizing the Driving Cycle was developed. Using principal component analysis and cluster analysis of two types of advanced data processing technology, data processing to develop more realistic representation of the actual operation of Xi'an passenger cars state condition. Then characteristics of parameter values through the vehicle Driving Cycle under analysis and the existence of the operation of vehicles in Xi'an, as well as the reasons for these circumstances and at the same time on the establishment of traffic lights on the effects of Driving Cycle; the final comparative analysis of working conditions in Xi'an typical Driving Cycle with other. It was found that other city's Driving Cycle are obviously not true reflect the actual situation of Xi'an. Xi'an local governments should adopt the recommendations of its own comprehensive Driving Cycle of passenger cars in order to develop a more scientific and more reasonable in line with the actual pollution control measures.
