| How to maintain the safety and stability of the power system, is always a core task of the electric power system. In recent years, statistics show that, although the frequency of accidents in the grid is on the decline, the result is becoming more serious, particularly the large cascading failures, such as the August 14, 2003 Blackout in USA & Canada, November 4th, 2006 blackout in Western European, which affected a wide range of people's life.As cascading failures involving many different forms of fault and equipments, its research and analysis are very difficult. While research on mechanism and characteristics of failure has made a lot of achievements in recent years, researchers still need a lot of work to solve the problems.Based on the current situation, how to reduce the probability and losses of failure, restore power as soon as possible, is a big problem of dispatching departments of East China Grid. This study makes more in-depth analysis of the recent major power outages at home and abroad, including the basic situation of the accident and the cause of the accident. It also summarizes lessons and general processes of major power outages recently, and gives the main points and strategies of East China Grid in cascading fault. |
