As the new requirements to the energy-consumption products by energy policies, the research on the energy consumption of traction elevators, which are special equipments in buildings, is the foundation of elevator energy efficiency evaluation, energy-saving supervision, elevator design, order and purchasing. So, the research on the power-dissipation model of PMSM traction elevator is valuable not only in theory but also in social benefit.According to the characteristics that an traction elevator works in four quadrants and has a counterweight, the modules of an elevator energy consumption model and the factors which influence the energy consumption are determined, based on the analysis of the characteristics of energy no-regeneration elevators and energy regeneration elevators. Among all the modules, the traction system module and the drive system module are two key modules. By the relationship between the kinetic energy and the works of the traction system, the energy consumption model of the traction that the relation between the output-power of the drive system and the load including the state of the car, is built. By the measured elevator dynamic energy consumption data, the energy consumption model of the drive system that the relation between the input-power of the drive system and the output-torque including the speed of the motor, is built. And the feasibility and the method for building the drive system model using the simplified dynamic energy data are researched. Finally, by combining the traction system model and the drive system model, the energy simulation model of traction elevator is built.With the development of the elevator technology, especially the elevator drive technology, the traction elevator driven by the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is becoming the mainstream product of the newly installed elevators. From the three aspects that the power quality supplied for PMSM, the control algorithm, the design of the motor, the measures to improve the PMSM drive system efficiency are discussed. And a new method using finite element to calculate the energy of the drive system is proposed, being different from the method of building the drive system model by dynamic measurement,The traction elevator power-dissipation model can be applied to calculate elevator energy consumption, to research the influence to the energy consumption by the change of the elevator parameters and speed, to research the elevator energy efficiency evaluation method, and to design an energy-saving elevator.
