Proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFC) with superior performance was considered to be one of the most amazing electricity power sources. Membrane electrode assembly, a key component of fuel cell, was investigated in this paper. Study has been done on fabrication of electrode and operation. Traditional methods have problems on cost and performance.This paper developed a new carbon material ink On the basis of a lot research work.Which is suitable for canon ip1800 and canon i455 ink-jet printer. Catalyst solutions were prepared by thoroughly mixing a carbon-supported catalyst with Nafion solution and Milli-Q grade de-ionized water. Water, ethylene glycol and isopropanol were added to adjust the viscosity and surface tension. The composition of carbon powder ink is 40 mass %Pt/C 1.6~3mass%, isopropanol 2~5mass%, de-ionized water 60~70 mass%, acetamide 0.3~0.4 mass%, ethylene glycol 10~15 mass%, methylamide 2~8mass%, ammonia sever drop. Nafion is added to Catalyst layer ink at the ratio of Pt / C quality of one-third.The thesis used IJP successfully to prepare the catalyst layer. The single printed layer's thickness is 0.1~0.3μm, and the catalyst layer containing Pt can be reduced to below 0.01mg/cm2. Catalyst can be printed with multilayer to control Pt carrying capacity strictly. When the Pt load is 0.1mg/cm2, the power density of the single cell was 4mW/cm2, Pt load of 0.2mg/cm2 single battery's power density was 6.5mW/cm2, the battery is only suitable for small current discharge. Sever inks can be printed to form graded catalyst layer.This paper silk screen printed MEA's gas diffusion layer. Isopropanol and glycol were added in the ink of silk screen printing to improve the dispersecity. The author used the screen print method to design a new model of MEA, in which water and gas was transferred in different area. This model showed a stable performance. When the Pt load is 0.1mg/cm2, the power of the single cell is up to 47mW/cm2.
