With the development of social economy and urbanism in China, the urban transport problems have become more and more serious. An effective way to solve the problem is to develop public transport. Bus priority of intersections can reduce the delay time of buses and increase their speed in order to effectively ensure the bus arriving on time, enhance the level of the bus services and promote the development of public transportation, which is of great importance to ease traffic pressure on the city and ensure the city to develop continuably. In this paper, the methods of the common bus priority signal control are researched, which are used in the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) signal priority system.In this paper, the process of the bus priority signal control on the basis of studiing the basic bus priority signal control is explored and researched. From Early Green, Green Extension and Phase Insertion of the three points of views, the way of calculating the vehicle intersection delay of the bus priority signal control is studied, and the control parameters required in the bus priority signal control are analysed; besides, this paper establishes control models based on the bus priority with the total minimum delay of passengers.BRT signal priority system in an intersection is studied in this paper on the basic studies of the common bus priority signal control. BRT signal priority system in the intersection is expounded through the design of the system architecture, the subsystem functions, the control strategies and so on.
