Today, more and more fluctuant loads such as electric arc furnaces, rolling mills, winches and welding machines are connected into electric networks, which causes the fluctuation and flicker of voltage,the imbalance of three-phase power supply and some other problems of electric quality. SVC due to its advantage of rapid, continuous and independent control of three-phase reactive power has become the best choice of reactive power compensator in power system supplying fluctuating loads.TCR-SVC control system includes three important systems: detection system, control system and trigger system. We study of the instantaneous reactive power theory, using ip-iq methods and improved Fourier algorithm method to get the real-time reactive current signals. In the trigger aspect, we study of the relationship between the compensation admittance and the thyristor trigger angle, calculation the formula of compensation trigger angle, and studied the trigger delay system. Control aspect, we study two basic models in the SVC compensation system (proposed by the IEEE). Design a integrated reactive power compensation regulator, it can both balance the three-phase load and stability bus voltage. A single-phase model and a three-phase model of TCR are established by Matlab software. The relations among the thyristor control angle, trigger pulse and the fundamental current are analyzed. The simulate result and test can improve the calculate method and handware design used in the text, and insuring the veracity and objectivity of the research.
