As a result of long-time heavy load and fatigue, cracks of different degrees begin to emerge in traction seats of 6K locomotive. In view of the more and more serious damage situation, transportion accident may happen at any time, So there is an urgent need of a safe and reliable traction seats life prolongation program to let 6K locomotive continue to serve the cause of our country's railway transportation safely.In this paper, combined with views and requirements of Luoyang locomotive Deports, the engineering reseach project load distribution characteristics and structure life prolongation for traction seats of 6K electric locomotive was studied. The traction seats load signal acquisition was done under its actual operating conditions, by the amendment of the Mean stress and load identification, six traction seats load spectrums were done. In order to have a more comprehensive understanding to the distribution of the Mother Sample, with the help of MATLAB, statistic inference and fitting test was processed, ultimately with relative error, compared the theoretical and measured load frequency. Using probability calculation method, the max load was inferred in the end.Basing on the theoretical analysis, this paper determined the target and grounds for the structual improved, through ANSYS finite element calculation, we compared the response characteristic to the measured load of every life prolongation programs, arrived the optimal transformation of the traction seats at last. In order to ensure the improved traction seat is safe and reliable, we carry out the actual measurement of the dynamic stress on the first improved locomotive, and apply the S-N curves and Miner linear cumulative damage law on the calculation of the Equivalent stress amplitude, different levels of extended life, of the key parts, making whose fatigue strength assessment.At last, the impact of welding quality to the traction seats fatigue strength was studied. And this paper makes a brief cost-effectiveness analysis on the traction seats reinforcement in the context of financial short of the whole Railway system.
