At present, the transit equitment model which had studied is not truly suitable for the urban road networks, thus the model fitting effect is not so well. Therefore, this thesis did systematically research on using the transit equilibrium assignment model in the platform of EMME/2.This thesis analyzes the impedance foundation of the existing equilibrium assignment model and brings forward using the Conical Volume-Delay Function instead of BPR Function reflects the effects of the in vehicle time due to the crowded road network; establishes impedance functions containing the intersection delays based on the delay equation from the "U.S. Highway Capacity Manual". The detailed transit impedance modeling method in EMME/2 using its relative modules is also proposed;Based on the network representation method which was presented by Spiess in 1984 and considering the limits of transit capacity, the waiting time was the function of effective frequency, which was considered as the decreasing function of the transit volume. As a result, the limit effects of the line operation capacity on passengers waiting time at the stop is simulated.Based on the above research, and starting from the transit equilibrium condition, The model objective function considers three parts of minimums which are the road section impedance, the waiting time and the turnning time. and the model's solution and its uniqueness property is proved as well. the transit equilibrium assignment model is formulated and solved by the commonly used F-W algorithm. At last, the proposed transit equilibrium assignment model and the practical application effect of its algorithm are validated in the example. The optimized result showed that Proposed the transit equilibrium improvement model and the solution algorithm is feasible and effective, which can fit the enormous road investigation quantity; The restraining result showed that the improvement model has the distinct enhancement in the convergence rate.
