Soft ground improvement technology is still one of the hot issues in the works to explore. Basing on the soft soil analysis of physical and mechanical properties in the area of Ningbo Expressway acrossed region, the dissertation made a system research in soft ground improvement combinated actual Ningbo-Tongsan highway project.Based on field test results and theoretical analysis, studied the relationship between the filling height and deformation settlement after soft ground improvement with gravel pile,DJM pile,plastic drainage board and pre-load bearing compression. On-site test results showed that the soft soil foundation that has been treated were significantly smaller than 30 cm. The theory which filling building rate methods replace settlement rate methods to control field construction during soft base embankment construction period was taken. The method is simple, economic security. The results of the research have a guiding role in subgrade (with similar geological condition) design, construction and subgrade stability monitoring, and have great reference value in reducing bumping at bridge head.
