Research On Creation Of The Neighborhood Place In The Renovation Of Old City

With the rapid urbanization in China, the social economic development has brought a powerful motivity to the city construction. After the reformation, the renovation of the old city which contained many complicated problems has become activity. Not only the physical surroundings need to be renewed and alternate, but also the public spaces which provide the mental communication and the harmonious neighborhood have been required strongly. The beginning of city public space in China was very late with the weak systematicness in research and planning, therefore, it pays less attention to the inferior public spaces such as the neighborhood inside the residential blocks. Especially, at the early stage of the reformation, everything was distempered, the simple big scale reconstruction was enforcement under the background of the less require to the qualified environment. As a result, the city space became more compact but the neighborhood for the communication was almost disappeared. As a basement to fill the trunk network of the public space in old city, the neighborhood plays an important role in promoting the communication, reserving the social network inside the blocks and stabilizing the social structure. In the certain condition, it is significant to bring the neighborhood construction into the whole renovation of the old city in order to enhance the entire benefit which contains the society, economy, environment and humanity.The paper is focus on the neighborhood, and based on the old city. It firstly reviews the theories and construction practices on the old city renovation and the neighborhood construction in China and abroad, and concludes the guiding theories means and construction experience. Aiming at the unique history of old city renovation in china, the paper concludes the function constitutes, layout characteristics and the current situations of old city public space construction, as well as the importance of the neighborhood constructing in old city. Secondly, with taking the example of three typical neighborhoods, the paper summaries the types and current problems of neighborhood, and discusses the essential factors on the social environment, nature environment and users. It advances the way to introduce the entire neighborhood construction into the old city renovation, the evaluate standards, and the principal constructing guidance. It also provides correlative measures to solve the problems that appeared during the operating stage. Finally, the paper proves the advanced research thoughts and methods with the concrete example planning research.
