The silty soil is distributed extensively in our country, can easily made the roadbed water concentrated in the seasonal characteristic frost areas, made the roadbed frozen up and expanded in the winter, and turn thick fluid over in the spring, is easy to bring about the early highway destroys, it is thought to be one of the worst road materials in the highway roadbed. The author toke the silty soil of low liquid limit as the main object of study, began with the physical property of the silty soil, researched compacted characteristics and the pressure transferring regulation in the silty soil. It not only perfects the compact technology and theory, but also has engineering practical value.The author began with the physical property of this silty soil, analyzed and studied its main characteristics. First, the author plan the curves of compaction and the pellet form, researched the compaction character of this silty soil. Then, the author introduced the scene compaction craft, analyzed the reasons of stabilizing of this silty soil, introduced the way of improvement, and the experiment of improvement of this silty soil in the Jing'an highway. In the laboratory research, the impaction and vibration roller model designed by professor Yang Renfeng of Chang'an University is used to analyze the impaction and vibration characteristics of this silty soil, using the analyzes of the 2 kinds of operating modes and the scene compaction, the autor showed that to this silty soil, the impaction and vibration roller has the compaction effort that other rollers can not reach. In the laboratory experiment, the dynamic pressure signal was collected to inspect the entire process, and then the pressure signal is analyzed to reveal the distributing and transferring regulation in the silty soil. Also, the author researched kind and property of the rubber absorber on the roller, and its damping principle, two-free-degreed model was built up, simulated with MATLAB software, the author analyzed the effort of the rigidity of the absorbers to the oscillation amplitude and the resonance frequency of the roller.
