With the long-span cable-stayed bridges being constructed, the damage caused by the wind-induced vibration of cables has become a very serious problem, and the rain-wind-induced vibration of cables is one of vibration form with large amplitude. Cables in many bridge has be damaged due to the large amplitude of cables, and some or all cables has to be replace in some bridges, bringing a great lot of economic losses, Therefore the research about rain-wind-induced vibration of cables is very necessary.Demonstrated mechanism of rain-wind-induced of cables vibration further in this thesis dissertation. Based on a variety of assumptions, nonlinear analysis model of rain-wind-induced vibration of cables is founded, with considering the spacial pose of cable and the quasi-steady assumption, The non-linear motion equation is solved by Runge-Kutta method. The single-particle model and three-dimensional model of rain-wind-induced vibration of cables are founded by ANSYS software. They are applied to the analysis for rain-wind-induced vibration of cables. And discussed the effects of the quality, frequency, damping, rivulet distribution and so on.With the work of this thesis dissertation, reveal the nature of rain-wind-induced vibration of cables further, prove up the effects of the relevant parameters, and it can provide the reference for the cable-stayed wind resistance design.
