Because of pressure of environment protection and energy resources, wind energy is developing fastest among all kinds of renewable resources due to its low cost and technical maturity. Wind generation has been an important measure in improving economical operation of power system. In recent years, capacity of wind generators and the scale of wind farm are becoming larger and larger, but the randomicity and intermittence of wind will produce disturbance on power system. Therefore research on characteristics of grid-connected wind farm becomes an important issue to the design and operation of the power system.This paper is based on doubly fed wind power system, does a lot of research about the interaction of wind power and the grid, especially to the stability and voltage quality of the power system. Main contents of the paper as follows:Firstly, this paper introduces the background knowledge of wind farm in Chongming, including the way of finding a proper address, and then analyzes the statistics of the wind resource in Chongming.Secondly, wind speed, wind generators and wind farm are modeled. The doubly fed wind generator model is used. Additionally, the paper discusses the equivalent method of multi-wind generator to one, makes analysis large capacity wind farm connected to power grid possibly.In the end, according to a practical wind generator, doubly fed Induction Generator Wind Farm in Chongming is modeled. Steady analysis and transient analysis is made, including power flow distribution, dynamic response when it works normally, wind farm starts to be connected or fault of line is occurred and provides some strategies.
