The goal of the thesis is to design a new and highly efficient miniature compressor, which is drived by a miniature linear motor, the compressor is applied to a micro-refrigeration system.The miniature refrigeration system is based on the theory of vapor compression refrigeration cycle, it is a micro-machine that integrate various components, power supplies, controllers and sensors in a small volume with the reasonable design and precision machining. Miniature refrigeration system has a broad market in the field in military, aviation and aerospace, as well as in outdoors medical treatment, engineering emergency measure, field operation and electronic cooling.Miniature compressor is the core component of the miniature refrigeration system, it should has small volume, light weight and high refrigeration efficiency, as well as low noise and vibration. For the traditional rotary motor-driven compressor, because of the complicated structure, its size has been greatly restricted. Linear motor uses a new type of driven technology which has been paid close attention in recent years, it convert electrical energy into mechanical energy directly without intermediate conversion components, so the size can be further reduced. Linear motor-driven piston compressor has unique advantages in efficiency and seal, there are many researches both at home and abroad, for the conventional size linear compressors, there are commodities in the market.In the thesis, a miniature moving magnetic linear reciprocating compressors is designed and as the research object, Mathematical models of the system are established, which include electromagnetic and mechanical vibration system. As the gas power is non-linear, and the mechanical and electromagnetic systems of compressor are coupled, so it is too complex to use non-linear model to analyse the dynamics of the whole system. Therefore a linear processing method is used to the system. Hence, the describing function approach is employed to linearize the models, by which the equivalent stiffness and damping of the system are obtained and static and dynamic components of the gas force decoupled. Then a simulation is made on the vibration system of miniature compressor, the working characteristics of the compressor is detailed analysed based on the simulation results.Finally, the experimental research is carried on the sample machine. By changing inlet pressure, power frequency and input voltage value to analyse their impact on the performance of compressor. There has a big difference between the experimental results and theoretical calculation, the article analyzed the main factors that impact the performance of the miniature compressor, which lay a foundation for the further study and optimization of the miniature linear compressor.
