Constrained damping vibration isolators are widely used in engineering applications. However, because of the limitation of design methods, constrained damping isolators have difficulty in meeting the developing requirement for engineering applications. Design method and technology of constrained damping vibration isolators have been studied in this thesis.In order to overcome the defects of the current design method of isolation system, such as experience-dependence, high cost and long design period, considering of the features of constrained damping isolators, the design method combining simulation and structural optimization has been used, in which stiffness and damping are designed separately to simplify design problems and reduce the cost and time.Stiffness and damping design are two key technologies of constrained damping vibration isolators. Finite element analysis of viscoelastic materials is the technical difficulties of isolator design. In this paper, by analyzing dynamic mechanical properties of viscoelastic materials, and comparing several finite element analysis methods, draws the conclusion that the revised modal strain energy method possesses high calculation efficiency, good precision, and then discusses the revised modal strain energy method through an example.Aiming at static and dynamics constraint problem, size optimization under ANSYS environment has been applied to dynamics optimization design to find the best section size and material properties; for the best isolation effect, common layout forms of isolation system has been studied in this thesis. After coupled vibration analyzing of three typical layout forms of horizontal isolation system, it is suggested that isolators distributing along the circle is the best way, showing the least influence.Finally, by using method combining simulation and structural optimization presented in this thesis, a large load passive constrained damping vibration isolator has been developed, showing good three-dimensional performance.
