Vehicle steering system is the mechanism used to change the direction of the vehicle. Its performance has big influence on vehicle's control stability, safety and comfort. With the increasing of demand on driving comfort and requirement of energy-saving, more and more attention is being paid on Electric Power Steering System (EPS) for its great manipulated ability, high efficiency, low energy consumption, good steering feel and convenience for installation, maintenance and adjustment .Development of EPS requires the knowledge of Mechanics, Electronics and Auto Control, so it is difficult and time-consuming to develop it by conventional development method. This thesis presents a new kind of development method, by utilizing the magnificent design capability of Matlab and other software such as ControlDesk and CCS can considerably reduce the workload of development, save time.First of all, builds the dynamic model of EPS integrates with vehicle dynamic model, and adds the closed-loop control model which is used to control the current of assist motor to the dynamic model, simulates this model to validate it.Then, uses Matlab and a real-time simulation platform developed by dSPACE Corporation to build a real-time Simulation model of EPS, and does the Hardware-in-Loop Simulation of EPS to test the real-time performance of the control algorithm. Finally, uses Matlab and CCS--an Integrated Development Environment developed by TI Corporation--to develop the EPS real-time controller based on TI F2812 eZDSP development board. This process includes designing auxiliary circuit for the controller chip and building the real-time control model of EPS to generate the control program automatically. The Development method presents by this thesis can reduce the cost, save development time and improve development quality and efficiency of EPS development.
