As complex engineering systems mostly consist of several domain subsystems which are coupled, traditional single-domain simulation tools are not capable of modeling and simulation for them. Multi-domain modeling & simulation platform, which is based on Modelica language, can implement visual unified modeling of multi-domain physical system in real project.Based on requirement of integrating singular professional software into multi-domain unified modeling & simulation platform, this thesis, supported by National Science and Technology Support Plan Manufacturing Informationization Important Project, and National Natural Science Fund, research on transition from multi-body dynamic model into multi-domain model, whose goals is to afford a approach for integrating singular multi-body professional software into multi-domain simulation platform. It also can expand modeling of multi-domain modeling & simulation platform, and reduce repeat modeling.Firstly, based on multi-rigidbody system dynamic modeling theory, research on how to express model in multi-body dynamic, including the relationship of model and model element, how to express model element, and how to manage model element. Develop interface for getting model data in InteDyna system.Secondly, based on multi-body unified modeling theory, research on how to express model in Modelica language, including the structure of multi-domain model, how to express model element, and how to locate model element in Modelica.Thirdly, research on how to translate model element, such as part, constraint & motion, force, and expand Modelica multi-domain library for transition. Finally, for the translator, design interface, data structure and system structure. The author develop translator module in InteDyna, which is a kind of multi-body dynamic modeling & simulation software, and present a vehicle suspension model example to validate that the research and method are feasible and effective.
