The fast algorithm for power network outage-simulation is the base of static security assessment, and the existing fast algorithm has been successfully applied to the actual networks. However, with modern power networks gradually complicated, flow unconvergence,bus splitting,power system separation and other issues of actual power networks have affected the application of existing fast algorithm for outage-simulation. Therefore, studying the problems of rapid calculation method and bringing quick-effective simulation algorithm have important practical significance. In this paper, we study the fast algorithm for power network outage-simulation. The main content of this paper have four parts: theoretical analysis, improving method research, software development and software analysis.Firstly, the related theories of power system outage-simulation are summarized. The development course and research status of outage study is simply introduced, and the thorough research for the existing fast algorithm has been done.Secondly, the modified compensation method is proposed. The algorithm and the outage-simulation model have been improved. This method can solve problems of multiple outages better in power network. The applications of this method under bus splitting and power system separation conditions are researched. Then the detailed implementing procedure of this method is presented.Thirdly, software for power network outage-simulation based on modified algorithm is developed. This paper elaborates the programming process of the software, describes general function of the power flow calculation module, and summarizes the function and characteristic of the outage-simulation module.Finally, the practicality of the power network outage-simulation analysis software is analyzed. Outage-simulation calculation of actual system is performed by the software. The calculation speed and accuracy is evaluated, and the results show that the software works effectively in solving the outage-simulation problem.
