The analysis of deformation characteristics and assessment of stability of deep foundation pit is one of the important subjects in geotechnical engineering, and the field dynamic monitoring has become an important component of the informationization construction of foundation pit. It is more important applying value to research the numerical simulation and the dynamic monitoring in deep foundation pit engineering. In this paper, the deformation laws of soil and retaining structure of deep foundation pit have been researched by using the method of numerical simulation and field monitoring. Some achievements are as follows:(1) Using the ABAQUS program to simulate the entire process of foundation pit excavation, the deformation laws of soil and retaining structure in different stages of foundation pit excavation have been described, different kinds of deformation causes in foundation pit excavation are discussed.(2) The field monitoring of the deep foundation pit has been completed, and the deformation laws of different monitoring contents are analysised. Based on the grey model GM(1,1),the level displacement of foundation pit surface is predicted. The results show that the field dynamic monitoring plays an important role in assuring safety construction of deep foundation pit.(3) The results of numerical simulation are larger than those of field monitoring about 10%~35% by comparing with each other,and the deformation laws which are gained by the two different methods are basicly consistent. It is shown that the ABAQUS program can be well used in numerical simulation of deep foundation pit.Using the numerical simulation for foundation pit excavation process, the scientific basis and guide role can be provided for the optimization design of retaining structure and for practice engineering.
