The Research Of The Quality Promoting For The Urban Public Space Of Suzhou

With the improvement of living standards and the increasing leisure time of urban residents, the demands for public space have become more superior, not only in the quantity but also in the quality of space, which often be neglected in the rapid urbanization process. Western countries have taken various measures to increase the number and improve the quality of public space, but it is made in the finish of industrialized as the make up, where there the question and experience are co-exist. From this there is an important enlightenment: the systematic construction of urban public space and the improvement of the overall quality of the space must be completed simultaneously with the process of rapid urbanization. At present, the construction of urban public space is trend to the integrated control of the elements design and System development. Because of this trend, this paper brings up the ideas and methods that through the elements design to enhance the quality of urban public space.The elements which constitute urban public space is diverse, their roles and functions are different depends on the level which they are in. based on the conclusion of the experience at home and abroad, this paper studied the elements integration of urban public space, a clear the impact of the leading elements, list systematically of the relationship of various elements between levels, in order to make the elements correspond to the levels of the urban public space system. Make Suzhou as an object of study, analyze the characteristics of different types of public space to find out the dominant elements and problem, based on the above basis, and construct a framework for the design of the elements of the quality of public space. Depending on the stages of the planning, the control objectives and design principles at all levels that correspond to certain elements of quality, making the element design and classification guide according to the control procedures, so that it's an effective way to enhance the quality of urban public space comprehensively and systematically.
