AC-DC matrix converter is a new type of green controllable supplies with high performance, It has been one of the most popular topics for study in recent years due to its advanced topology with numerous merits, such as nearly sinusoidal input/output waveforms, controllable input power factor, power regeneration and lack of bulky energy storage components.This paper introduces a new type of AC-DC matrix converter with a high-frequency isolation transformer. Starting from the topology of matrix converter, it analyzes and deduces two primary issues in MC control techniques—modulation theory and commutation mode by using the combined strategy of space vector modulation and four-step commutations, and gets switch function of ac-ac and ac-dc section. Under the condition of resistance-inductance load, emulation model of AC-DC matrix converter is built to analyze input and output working characteristics of AC-DC matrix converter by using MATLAB, the result shows the output voltage of converter can be positive or negative and adjusted independently, a near-unity power factor can be obtained, which demonstrates its excellent working characteristics.Aiming at the shortage of the common DC pwm speed adjusting system can't carry out two-way energy transfer., this paper gives a DC speed adjusting system that AC-DC matrix converter is chosen as transducer power electronic circuits. Then, emulation model of Double-closed-loop DC speed adjusting system based on AC-DC matrix converter is built, the result shows the realization of four-quadrant running of DC motor, which infers the good dynamic and static performance and stability of the system, and further foreshadows the application research of AC-DC matrix converter in DC reversible speed adjusting system. Finally, with DSP TMS320F2812 as the core, the control strategy of DC speed adjusting system based on AC-DC matrix converter is designed.
