At the salt land, the performance of pavement is worse than which on the normal subgrade because of the instability of the deliquescent salt. Especially in the soil with Na2SO4, the expanding of sulfate make the pavement producing non-uniform transmutation,crack and so on. It is also one of the important factors that restrict the developing of the highway.This research takes the soil with Na2SO4 as an example, generally analyzing influence of asphalt and asphalt mixture by sulfate with many tests. The tests include: testing penetration,intenerating point and prolongation, then contrasting the result of aging asphalt with that of no aging asphalt; Contrasting the water stability of asphalt mixture due to eroding by sulfate; With wheel-tracking tests, analyzing the difference of high temperature performance of asphalt mixture eroded by sulfate.Under limited test conditions, the results of this research show that the performance of asphalt and asphalt mixture is more feebleness with enhancing of the thickness of salinity.
