DMFC has many advantages such as simple structure, easy to carry and storage, high theory specific energy, etc. It has broad application prospect in small portable power and micro power, and is believed to be the best substitution of lithium cell. Bipolar plate, the key component of micro DMFC, is responsible for the transmission and distribution of fuel and oxidant, collection of current, sealed fuel cell, etc. It forms the basic unit of DMFC with membrane electrode---single fuel cell. The structure of dual-plate has a significant influence on the power, efficiency, life-span and costs of the fuel delivery system. Therefore, the study of bipolar plate is of great significance to improve cell's performance and stability.This thesis aims to do some exploratory study of fuel delivery system, manufacturing materials and flow structure of the bipolar plate, assemble complete single fuel cell. The thesis supply the scientific basis and technical support of researching efficient and low cost DMFC by drawing polarized curve and analyzing the factors of effecting fuel cell's performances.Main contents: First, select 304 stainless steel as the material of making the Bipolar plate, and copperize the surface. Experiment, the contact of carbon paper and 304 stainless steel can upgrade.304 stainless steel's electroconductibility, is proved. Second, analyse fuel cell's fuel delivery system, design a passive conveying system based on the Pervaporation Membranes, propose carbinol supplying control method according to the passive conveying system, and design relevant flow-field plate. Third, complete the production of flow-field plate, film electrode and other parts of the fuel cell, realize fuel cell's sealing and current's eduction, and assemble passive DMFC single fuel cell based on the Pervaporation Membranes. Fourth, analyse flow field's effect to the performance of fuel cell by changing flow field opening rate . Finally, analyse the effects of all kinds of polarization towards the performance of fuel cell through controlling and changing the working conditions. Preliminarily validate the practical value of passive and air breathing DMFC, and lay the foundation of commercialization of DMFC.
