With the effect of energy crisis, ships which can save resource have been widely researched by scholars and designers scholars at home and abroad. Twin-skeg hull, as an outstanding hull lines in ship evolution history, have developed quickly in recent years. Especially under the situation that the draft of propeller of inland ships has been restricted, the advantages of this hull is particularly outstanding. Twin-skeg hull has been proved by researches and practice that it has great resistance performance, propulsive performance and maneuverability, worth studying and developing.Ship lines designing is an important content of ship preliminary design, having significant effect on technical performance and economic performance. Lines design of Twin-skeg hull 1 depends mainly on traditional ways at home currently. For example, skegs and main hull can be considered separately, resorting to the experiences of the distribution of prismatic coefficient between them. Design software used by shipyard exist these problems such as high price, data interface and so on. So it has important theoretic and practical meaning to study and develop software with simple operation and practicality. This software can automatically generate half-breadth plan, body plan and sheer plan of Twin-skeg hull.The main work of this article is employing parent hull change method to achieve the design function on the basis of the characteristics of hull lines of Twin-skeg hull. This method can make designed hull inherit the excellent performance and design hull lines easily, reducing the work time. Combining professional knowledge of hull designing and the knowledge of computer, I redeveloped the AutoCAD by VB.NET language and compiled software for designing hull lines of Twin-skeg hull, with quick calculation and simple operation. It has functions of reforming sectional area coefficient curve, automatically generating hull lines of Twin-skeg hull, ship performance calculation and so on. The software is suitable for inland-river ship and sea going vessel with skegs. In addition, researching method of local transformation against Twin-skeg hull, achieved the partial transformation of skegs in the width, length and height in different directions, at the same time maintained the offset of the main hull, the shape and position of the knuckle lines unchanged.At last, 33m patrol ship for actual operation is taken as an example, which proves the feasibility and practicality of the software. It is said that the software in this article plays a active role in the aspects of reducing work strength, improving design efficiency and design quality.
